Abstract: KFMI relies on metal target materials to enter the semiconductor industry chain, becoming the only domestic semiconductor target material enterprise. However, facing its own weakness in the field of upstream materials, the absolute advantage of foreign semiconductor giants in product technology, as well as foreign restrictions on the export of advanced equipment, KFMI urgently needs to find a way to break through. This case will guide students to systematically sort out KFMI's development opportunities, internal and external environments, industrial structure and major risks, analyze the collaboration mode between KFMI and different market players such as upstream suppliers, downstream users and peripheral enterprises, and summarize the road for KFMI to build a local semiconductor industry ecosystem. We hope that through this case study, we can explore the development status and prospects of KFMI and put forward feasible suggestions and strategies for its future development.
