主讲人:Eagle Zhang, 澳大利亚悉尼大学高级讲师

主持人:吴依,浙江大学管理学院研究员

主讲人简介:

Eagle Zhang is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney, Australia. Eagle’s research focuses on the political economy of financial accounting practices and regulation. Exploring the concepts of neoliberalism and financialisation, Eagle’s work examines the transformative potential of accounting on China’s socio-economic development, demonstrating how accounting is a part of the technical architecture of neoliberal free markets. Eagle has also undertaken in-depth investigations into China’s distinctive socio-political history and its implications on the development of Chinese accounting regulations.

Eagle currently serves on the Editorial Boards of Critical Perspectives on Accounting and Accounting History. He is also an Associate Editor of Meditari Accountancy Research.

摘要:

China's accounting systems have played an important role in the country's economic transformation. Critical accounting research encourages us to look beyond technical calculations and ask broader questions about governance, accountability, power, and social consequences. In this seminar, I will introduce the key ideas of critical accounting research and reflect on insights gained from my own research on accounting-related issues in China. I hope to show how accounting can provide a powerful lens for understanding some of the most significant economic and social developments in contemporary China, while highlighting the rich opportunities that China's unique institutional context offers for future research and scholarship.
